Only use the hose assembly as supplied for connection to the gas supply.
If the gas cylinder valve is not in good condition, ask your gas dealers to replace it with
another cylinder valve.
Conduct a visual inspection of the regulator. Remove any dirt or loose metal shavings.
Fit the hose to the regulator outlet nozzle (Fig. 1). Use water or liquid soap for lubrication of
the hose. Insert fi rmly and clamp it tightly using the hose clamp.
Attach the other end of the hose to the gas appliance in a similar way.
In the absence of any fl ame or heat sources, remove the protective seal from the gas
cylinder valve.
Connect the cartridge to the regulator by screwing the cartridge into the underside of
the regulator in a clockwise direction. (Fig. 2 and 3). Firmly tighten the regulator onto the
valve, being careful to not over tighten.
Open the valve on the regulator by turning the regulator control knob in an anti clockwise
direction, at least 1 full turn.
Check the connection for a gas leak. If a leak is present, this should be rectifi ed before
turning the on the gas appliance by turning the gas appliance control knob to the 'ON'
position.
Replacing an empty gas cylinder:
When you need to replace your empty cylinder, make sure that the gas appliance control
knob is turned to the "OFF" position.
Do not smoke while changing the cylinder.
Turn the regulator control knob clockwise to turn the gas supply off .
Hold the regulator and unscrew it from the gas cylinder by turning it anti clockwise. If a hiss
is heard or if gas is smelt, reconnect the regulator by turning it clockwise and place the
appliance and the cylinder outside in a well ventilated area.
Attach the regulator to a full cylinder, refer to the instructions above on how to connect the
gas supply.
Apply the same care and checking procedures as if fi tting a new gas cylinder.
