13. Laser beamer

Laser beamer in use

13.1
The leading beam of the laser beamer
makes sawing in straight lines much easier:
a. along a drawn line, or
b. by aligning it to a fixed point marked on
the workpiece.
The range of the laser beam, depending on
the environmental light, is about 65 cm.

Replacing batteries

13.2
• Hold the circular handsaw straight in
front of you. Pull the lid on the laser
beamer towards you, and then lift it.
Replace the batteries with new ones.
You will need 2 x 1.5 V "LR44" batteries.
• Never dispose of old/empty batteries
with the household refuse, but deposit
them instead at special collection point
for batteries or chemical refuse.
• When inserting the batteries, ensure
that the +/- terminals are correctly
placed, as shown inside the battery
compartment.
• Again lower the lid, pull it towards you,
press it against the saw blade cover,
and let it softly spring back into the
closed position.
• Check that the laser beamer is properly
closed by carefully opening the lid
straight upwards. If the lid opens up,
repeat the closing procedure, until the
lid stays properly closed.

Adjusting the laser beam

13.3
• Transport handling and heavy use can
affect the precision of the laser beam.
• The laser beam itself can be easily
adjusted.
• Hold the blade of the circular saw
against a straightedge or perfectly
straight plank.
• Switch the laser on.
• Check whether the laser beam runs
parallel along the edge of the straight-
edge or plank.
If the laser beam is out of alignment, pro-
ceed as follows:
• Loosen the screw on the front side of
the laser a few turns.

• Again tighten the screw.

14. Cleaning and maintenance

• To avoid injury always pull the power
plug before maintaining or cleaning the
machine.
• Clean the machine with a moist cloth.
• If the machine is very dirty use a mild
detergent or soap on the cloth. Other
cleaning agents may contain chemical
substances which may damage the
plastic parts of the machine.
• Do not allow liquids to enter the
machine and do not immerse the
machine in liquids of any kind.
• Repairs, inspections of the interior of
the machine, adjustments and replace-
ment of the carbon brushes may only
be undertaken by a professional. Only
identical replacement parts may be
used! For further information please
contact our customer service
department.
• Always keep the ventilation slots open
and clean. After each use remove dirt
and contaminations with a brush or
blow it out with compressed air.
• If increased brush fire occurs this indi-
cates that the carbon brushes are worn
and should be replaced. Have the
brushes replaced by a professional.
