2. Install the tap in the lower water container. Make sure there is 1 sealing ring on the inside of the water container and 1 on
the outside. Tighten the nut on the inside securely.
3. Before the filter can be used, the filter element must be completely saturated with water:
Option 1: Suction
Use the suction hose for this, with which the filter element can be filled with water: Attach the
suction hose onto the filter outlet and immerse the filter element completely under water.
Then suck on the hose until no more air bubbles are visible in the hose.
Option 2: Water Pressure
Turn the union nut with the flat side up on the filter element a bit so that 1 of the rubber rings
just fits on top. Press the element with the rubber ring firmly against the tap. Open the tap
until a fairly gentle stream of water comes out. A flow too strong is not helpful because then
the water will spray in all directions, and a flow that is too soft will not give enough pressure.
You have to make sure that the rubber ring fits exactly on the tap so that the water goes
directly through the filters and thus pushes the air out. You will then see that the filter element
will allow water to pass from top to bottom and the filter element will become saturated with
water in this way.
4. The filter element can now be mounted in the water container. Insert the filter outlet, with a
sealing ring on it, through the hole in both the bottom of the water container and in the lid.
Place a second sealing ring around the filter outlet and tighten the union nut securely.
5. Place the two water containers on top of each other and fill the top one with the water which
is to be purified.
6. First flush a new filter element with 3 to 4 liters of water. After this, the filtered water is
suitable for consumption.
Maintenance
The filter element can be easily cleaned when the waterflow decreases.
1.
If a Sediment Filter Sleeve is used: remove the Filter Sleeve and rinse it well.
2.
The filter element surface can be sanded clean using the integrated Cleaning Pad. Then
rinse the filter element with water.
Clean the water containers regularly by washing them with water and soap and then rinsing them
with clean water.
Keep the filter element in use, or store the filter element in a plastic bag (eg zip lock) to prevent
the Ultrafiltration Membranes from drying out. We recommend adding a Water Filter Disinfectant solution
(eg AQUA Logic Cosil47). First flush the filter element again before using it again.
