Before Initial Use
CAUTION!
❐ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of suffocation!
1. Unpack the device and remove all fi lms and stickers that may be present. Check the items
supplied for completeness (see the "Items Supplied and Device Overview" chapter) and pos-
sible transport damage. If you fi nd transport damage, do not use the device (!), but contact
the customer service department immediately.
2. The device may contain production residues. To avoid harmful effects to your health, clean the
frying container and the frying basket thoroughly before using them for the fi rst time (see the
"Cleaning and Storage" chapter).
IMPORTANT: The lid of the deep-fat fryer only closes correctly when the
frying basket handle has been pulled out. You should therefore always make
sure that the handle has been pulled out before you insert it into the deep-
fat fryer!
Use
CAUTION!
❐ Danger of fi re! The device is very hot during and after operation! When setting up the
device, ensure that you select a location with enough clearance all around the device (at least
10 cm to the sides, 30 cm above it) to prevent any build-up of heat.
❐ Danger of injury! Hot air comes out of the ventilation slots in the lid. Be careful when
touching the temperature controller or when opening the lid. Keep your head and hands out
of the danger zone when opening the lid.
❐ Danger of burns! Always use oven gloves when you open the lid and insert the frying basket
into the frying container or remove it in order to prevent burns. Do not touch the device
with bare hands.
❐ Never connect the device to the mains power when it is empty (without any oil / fat)!
❐ Never operate the device unattended in order to prevent any personal injury, material dam-
age and damage to the device, e.g. caused by fi re.

3. Please note that the frying basket handle can be locked
in two positions:

When it is delivered, the frying basket handle is in the
short locking position (1). To pull out the handle, press
the metal ends together and pull them out. Let go of
the metal parts so that the frying basket handle locks
in the pulled-out position (2).

When the frying basket handle is in the pulled-out
locking position (2), it can be inserted into the frying
basket in the manner described in the instructions.
