10. Battery Change
• Battery change is required when the display contrast of the weather station or the
outdoor sensor drops too far.
• Follow a battery change of the outdoor sensor with a sensor search at the weather
station if the outdoor sensor is no longer found.
• If the weather station batteries are flat, the battery icon appears above the seconds.
• When the batteries of the outdoor sensor are flat, the display of the weather station
shows a battery symbol between the outdoor temperature and the outdoor humidity;
a battery icon is also shown in the outdoor sensor display.
11. Range
The range for radio signal transmission between the outdoor sensor and the weather
station is up to 40 m at optimal conditions.
However, the range values refer to the so-called „free field range". (Range
in case of direct sight contact between transmitter and receiver without any
interferences).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, ceilings etc. between the transmitter
and the receiver which reduce the range correspondingly.
Due to the different influences on radio transmission, no specific range can be guaran-
teed, unfortunately. Usually, however, operation in a family home is possible without
any problems.
The range may be considerably reduced by:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings, plasterboard walls with metal stand construc-
tion
• Laminated/coated insulating glass panes
• Proximity to metal & conductive objects (e.g. heater)
• Proximity to the human body
• Other devices on the same frequency (e.g. radio headphones, radio speakers)
• Proximity to electrical motors/devices, transformers, mains adapters, computers
