• The symbol for the external sensor flashes in the display. The device switches to
search mode. (If the symbol stops flashing, you can keep the search button (12) on
the weather station pressed for 3 seconds, to start the RF search.)
• Press the Transmit (19) button at the bottom of the external sensor to send the RF
signal to the weather station, if the weather station is in search mode.
• All information including external temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction,
precipitation and the UV index are displayed on the weather station, if the weather
station and external sensor are within the effective transmission range.
• To obtain a good RF signal try to turn the wind turbine and change the alignment
of the wind vane on the external sensor, whereupon the wind speed and direction
should be updated within 2 minutes. The RF signal is still too weak if an update does
not appear each minute on the display. To obtain a good RG reception signal reduce
the transmission range and repeat the testing of the transmission range as described
above, until each minute of the update appears on the weather station.
• Remove all batteries from the external sensor after testing the effective transmission
range. In addition remove all batteries from the weather station and disconnect the
power supply from the main unit.
c) Installation and calibration
• After testing the effective transmission range you can install the external sensor at
the point selected by you. For this you require a mast with a diameter of approximately
25-30 mm (not supplied) which stands steadily and vertically.
• Position the U-shape metal plates at the mast. Insert the four hexagon bolts through
the holes in the metal plates and the holes in the mounting plate of the outdoor
sensor. Secure the installation using the nuts provided.
• After attachment check whether the external sensor is aligned horizontally so that
precise measurements of the wind speed and direction as well as the rainfall and the
UV index are guaranteed.
• You can also attach the external sensor to a wall using screws and plugs.
• Before screwing in a screw for the wall mounting or drilling a hole for a plug, you
should establish whether it is possible for the weather station to perfectly receive
radio data from the external sensor.
