8.3 Operating environment
Do not expose the product to any mechanical stress.
Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases,
vapours and solvents.
Protect the product from high humidity and moisture.
Protect the product from direct sunlight.
8.4 Operation
Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of
the device.
If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent
unauthorised use. DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself. Safe opera-
tion can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
– is visibly damaged,
– is no longer working properly,
– has been stored in poor ambient conditions for extended periods or
– has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
8.5 User requirements
Radiation can be hazardous to health. Persons that perform measurements in
the presence of radioactivity must understand the hazards involved, be familiar
with applicable guidelines, and take necessary precautions to protect them-
selves and others.
8.6 LiPo battery
This product must only be used with the built-in battery supplied, or an identical
replacement battery.
If the dosimeter is not going to be used for an extended period (e.g. when the
device is being stored), disconnect the battery from the device. To do this, you
need to remove the screws on the back of the device. Otherwise, the battery
may go into deep discharge, which can cause permanent damage. Take the bat-
tery out of the dosimeter, to avoid any damage that could be caused by battery
leakage. Charge the rechargeable battery regularly, even if you are not using
the product. Due to the rechargeable battery technology being used, you do not
need to discharge the rechargeable battery first.
